While we were last in town she had arranged for me to go and meet with Roger Hoffman- a musical genious in case you didn't know. He is the one who wrote "Consider the lillies of the Field". Among many other beautiful and inspiring songs. He has collaborated with many of the known LDS artists such as Janice Kapp Perry, and Micheal McClean . He also has an incredible voice and so does his wife.
During this rare opportunity, I was able to sing the song I wrote "Who was that Angel". WOW! Unbelievable!! We had a great time talking about their music and my music, and where I should go from here. The spirit was incredibly strong in their home. Thank you Mom for giving me this unforgettable experience!!

Speaking of Music. Debrah and her decision to go on a mission has inspired me greatly. I have decided to make my first album this year! It's going to be a religious album. I don't know if I will have it all recorded, but I am going to at least have the songs written - ready to record. I am very excited about this. It is something I have always wanted to do, so here I go. . . So far I have 7 partial songs and that might sound like I am further along than I really am. See, although I have the words and melody mostly written out for these, the hard hard hard part is getting the accompaniment. I've never played the piano and sung before, this is all new - and hard (did I mention that already?) I like a challenge though. Being Primary chorister has been a huge blessing too. Ever since I got this calling, all of the sudden it is easier for me to find and write down the notes. Amazing how those blessings work.
My goal is to do paintings to go along with the music. So if anyone has ideas for a song, or a painting I'd love to hear about it!

Go Gena! Good luck with it all. I'm sure it will turn out nicely.
ReplyDeleteWhat amazing goals you have for this year! Good luck with your songs. I can't wait to hear them. :D
