ThanksGiving

My parents and Debs came for ThanksGiving.  They couldn't make it for the 24rth so we had our ThanksGiving on Tuesday.  It was so wonderful to have them here.  There is only one problem that happens every time they come- it is never long enough. 

 Their trip wouldn't be complete without a walk downtown or as Breezie says- downtown-city.

Jon's Birthday fell on Thanks Giving this year and we like to make a big deal of Birthdays- but everything was closed for Turkey day.  So I planned most the Birthday festivities and surprises for Friday instead.  That's just how we roll.   Happy Birthday again, to the love of my life, I adore you!!!

 We toured the Golden History Museums

 I really enjoyed the music section of the museum.  They had square piano's like the one above, Mandaline's and even a piano covered in velvet- orange no less, it was so ugly I had to take a picture.  Notice Jon's finger right by the Do Not Touch sign this happens wherever I go. 

Travis came in to town for work it was fun to see him.  Thank you Crystal for the the cutest onsies I've ever see!!

Hooray for Hiking!!

If it sounds like I'm a little overly excited about hiking, theres a reason for that.  Jon likes to hike it's just once and a GREAT while between times he actually wants to go.  So when we had an extra warm day and he said, "Let's go hiking today"  I said "Okay with much enthusiasm"  Maybe we'll get to go on hikes more often now because Breezie seems to really enjoy them too.

 Jon was right there behind her and I kindof put the camera at an angel (I had to throw in my disclaimer.)

We're having a BOY!!!

Okay I have to say it. . . . . I was right.  This whole pregnancy I have just had a feeling this was a boy.  Jon and Breanna were convinced otherwise.  Breanna was so used to the idea of having a sister, she was a little disappointed at first, just for a day or two and now she is just thrilled to be having a baby brother.

She is so cute about this baby.  She is always hugging my tummy and saying " I want to kiss the baby".  I absolutely love it.  She is going to be the best big sister.

April still feels like a long time away. With December upon us that will fly by and as soon as January comes, I'm sure the time will just go by in no time.  (except for that ninth month of course which tends to crawl.)

I am started to feel him more and more- I love that feeling.  When we saw him on the last ultrasound he was very active.  Just moving around all the time, it is so fun to watch. 
I'm happy her Big Sister shirt I made still fits- barely but it fits.

So here's to a healthy pregnancy and an ever growing tummy!

Beautiful Breanna's Birthday!

My little Breanna, I love you more than words can say.  I am so grateful to have you.  You bring so much joy into my life.  I love you for all that you are, and all that you will become.  May God grant me what I need to be the Mother you deserve.

Breanna turned 3 this year.  Jon asked; "Are you a big girl now, or little?'  She said; "Yes."

Breezie got a kitchen for her Birthday and is nuts for it.  It has lots of fun sounds and several sides to play on.  I've never eaten so many delicious, yet invisible meals!
 

She also got a toddler bed for her birthday.  We find her sleeping in some crazy places.  One night the top half of her body was on the edge of the bed, while she was basically kneeling on the ground.  We found her all curled up at the headboard & laying flat out on the ground too.  We were pleasantly shocked that she has yet to come out of the room after we put her to bed.  What a good little chica!

Halloween!

 Halloween is one of my favorites!!  I love dressing up, and I love the candy Candy CANDY. 
Every year it's like pulling teeth to get Jon to dress up.  I was asking him for a couple weeks what he was going to be and never got an answer.  The day of the ward party I decided I was just going to bite my tongue if he didn't dress up.  Low and behold Jon comes walking in with moccasins and a giant poncho.  I was so very proud.

 

Breezie loved her witch costume, but called it her princess dress- it does have a princess look to it.

 Jon won 2nd place for his delicious chili at the tri-ward Halloween Party. 

 

I went a little overboard with the cookies.  Even after giving away several plates we had more than we could eat.  I love me a good sugar cookie.  I think the recipe probably made about 4 dozen.

 

Minus the whiskers and ears this is my every day look.  I am more than grateful that I haven't been sick with this pregnancy, but raging hormones are getting the best of me. It's been a struggle to keep my irritability and impatience in check. With a LOT of prayer, and a LOT of patience from my sweet hubbie-do, I've been able to make some large improvements over the last couple of weeks so lets just hope I can keep moving in that direction.

You know how with pregnancy you automatically get hiper-sensitive super nose.  Well somehow that shifted to my ears instead.  It is so weird, suddenly Jon twirling the car keys in his hand sound like a jack hammer to me.  Don't even think about stirring your glass with ice in it.  We have a strict "no tapping" rule in our house now.  Anyway, I just thought it was kind of interesting.

Falling into Winter

 Fall is so beautiful.  I am always sad when summer ends,but when the vibrant colors start popping up everywhere it is just breathtaking.  

 

 

The first snow of Denver this year.  (We already experienced the first snow of Utah.)  Breezie wants to be outside all the time now.  We need to go get her some real winter gear.  Right now we're using the good old sock for mittens. 

 

Jon was beating the snow off the trees (-cause what else would a guy do in the snow besides throw snowballs at his wife?)  a little more came down than expected and he was covered.

Well this may be the last post of our far away travels for a while.  If you haven't heard already; Jon was layed off from his Job.  It was quite abrupt really.  They did a mass layoff of all the senior managers.  At least we still have our coveted buddy pass for another year and a half!  Jon has been applying for jobs while enjoying this time at home with the fam.  I think the Lord has something in store for us that will be just right.  It is only a matter of time.

Breezie loved the "Pink Store" I don't blame her- all the girliness you can squeeze into one place.

  

Introducing Creole Creamery.  It was on the food network for having the best ice cream in town.  We tried the six scoop sampler platter.  They had lots of unique flavors like red velvet cake, cream cheese, mexican hot chocolate- it was actually hot ice cream; (they put cinnamon & cayenne pepper in it. Jon liked it- I didn't.) but the pink lemon-aid pie was awesome!

  

Of course there is always swimming!

 

Beautiful Baton Rouge.  Here is the state Capital.  It was Gi-normouse.

 

I was on the grass for a matter of two seconds and felt something bite me.  I saw something on Breezie's leg and while I'm taking her off the grass & getting the bug off of her I got about 7 ant bites on my foot.  Turns out I'm super allergic to red ants.  So I had to put my leg up with ice on it to keep the swelling down, and always have my anti itch cream on hand.  I seriously had those bites for a good 4 weeks afterwards.  Now when I see red ants, I run!

Back in Pheonix.

 

So fun to go back to the zoo.  Going the end of August we were lucky it was only 107 degrees.

 

 Monkey Village-  you can go in and walk right up to the monkeys.
